OUR COMMUNITY
Welcome to my first real post! As we know travel can be very daunting, and we can have hopes and dreams to travel the world. You can make a vision board at the beginning of every year of new destinations you want to see, cultural events you want to participate in, and landmark’s that are completely unbelievable. I am here to share with you my hopes and dreams and what has led me to want to help others, like you, in the same situation. I have recently come up with the bucket list goal of traveling to all the Wonders of the World. This stemmed directly from watching Rio as a kid. I have been obsessed with the movie, the music, and overall atmosphere that the movie displayed of Brazil. So much so, when I graduated in 2023 and my graduating class was picking a theme song for our year, I won with the idea of “Hot Wings” from the Rio soundtrack. It’s all from a very playful wish of mine when I was younger, but I have yet to give it up.
Every year I see the posts flow in of the floats and dancers of the Rio de Janeiro Carnival and I am mesmerized. This sends me down a rabbit hole of everything and anything Brazil. Bringing me to Christ the Redeemer. There is a clip in the movie of the birds hang-gliding near Christ the Redeemer and to little me, it looked so magical. Every single year I tell myself, “Next year is the year I go to Carnival,” which again, leads me down the rabbit hole of searching for budget travel, safe places to stay, what to do and what not to do, but overall, it is mostly people just enjoying their trip. This isn’t a bad thing, but it is not what information I am looking to get out of my searching.
You need to know so many things before travelling to a new place, their culture, their mannerisms, their language (or if it is that important to learn the language you will be isolated or be able to just skim by). The list goes on of all the things somebody wonders about new places. Which is my main goal to do for others. I want to create this space for all the what ifs and wonders of travelling as a young person and first-time traveller. This also stems from the view of a Canadian, which may help some more than others. That aspect I can’t change.
My bucket list continues to grow as I’m sure, others’ do too. I hope this blog comes to be helpful with people who have the same nosy nature as myself and I can give information that you might want or need when you start to think of travelling to a new place. Again, this is my first real post of many so keep yourself updated on the past travels I will begin to highlight and my future bucket list travels I am going to share soon!
