Seattle, Washington 2025
◦ When – August ◦ How long – 4 days ◦ Total budget – About $1000 ◦ Best moment – Hiking around the top of Mt. Baker ◦ Reason – Music festival, birthday trip, and camping
This trip was decently cheap because we decided to drive and not fly and I highly recommend that option. From driving we were able to comfortably get to our concert, explore Seattle including the; Pike Place Market, boardwalk, public parks, and local food. As well as on our way back up towards Canada we found a campground down a dead-end road that you’d only know of if you were looking for it that had a lake surrounding it. The reason for this campground was it being below Mt. Baker which was the real destination that day. It was an hour long drive up a windy road on the side of the mountain leading to a viewpoint with trails going off in every direction and was the most amazing thing I have ever seen. On the way back down the mountain we managed to catch the sunset which could have arguably been better than the mountain itself.

Montreal, Quebec 2025
◦ When – January ◦ How long – 8 days ◦ Total budget – About $1400 ◦ Best moment – The Ferris wheel ◦ Reason – For fun
Living in Kelowna I’ve found it’s rare that I travel outside of British Columbia because there is so many beautiful places so close by, but when I had a friend invite me to Montreal I figured why not when else would I have a reason to go to Montreal anyways. On our first night in the city after a red-eye flight, we wandered around in the freezing cold checking out things in the city and came across a Ferris wheel set up right beside what would be IglooFest a week later. It looked right over the water and with the now falling and being in a brand-new city everything looked amazing. The rest of the week was spent going to markets, shopping at all the vintage stores, meeting up with friends, and looking at monuments.

Tofino, British Columbia 2024
◦ When – August ◦ How long – 5 days ◦ Total budget – About $500 ◦ Best moment – Time at the ocean ◦ Reason – Girls camping trip
Going with two friends made this trip extremely affordable because we split everything, I was only in charge of paying for my share of the campsite as well as food and drinks for everyone. With the campsite only being $80 for two nights. Staying at a friend’s house in Vancouver the night before we got our ferry, as well as staying where my friend lives’ house for one night in Victoria. Every morning at our campground we would walk the beach with some coffee and play around at the water, we’d come back after breakfast and play spike ball and frisbee for hours just enjoying the sunshine and waves. We travelled from Tofino to Ucluelet for one day and spent another going to local stores in Tofino and getting tattoos. For our last two days we drove to Victoria and had our friend, who is a local, show us all her favourite spots as well as meet her friends. On our last day we woke up early to get our ferry home, had breakfast in Vancouver and made our way back to Kelowna. By far I think this was the most budget friendly trip I have taken without feeling like I had to actively not spend any money.
